Mygov.in's INDEPENDENCE DAY Short Film Competition



On the occasion of Independence Day celebrations, the National Film Development Corporation, a unit of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has taken the initiative to organize a short film competition through MyGov. A short film competition invites young amateur filmmakers (school / college students) to make short (maximum 3 minutes) films based on any of the topics below. The film should still display the relevancy of messages in the 21st century.
The aim of the competition is to make the youth aware of the simplicity and high ideals of their lives which will eventually become their message to the world.

INDEPENDENCE DAY Short Film Competition


  • The short film is open only to Indian citizens who are students from amateur filmmakers / high schools / colleges / universities (both public and private).
  • The duration of the short film should be a maximum of 3 minutes. If your film has been for so long, then your film will not be accepted.
  • Short Film can be made in 22 Indian languages ​​with transcript (literally) in Hindi / English.
  • Winning entries will be announced at a later date on the MyGov portal.
  • The panel of Jury, who will evaluate the competition, will be an expert in Gandhian philosophy and film production.

Note : The last date for submitting the short film on MyGov portal is 31 August 2019.

Short film contest themes can be as follows
  1. "The future depends on what you do today"
  2. "Freedom is being given to you, without any permission"
  3. "I love my freedom, I respect my freedom"

Short Film Competition Award:

Top 5 winners to be chosen - prize money and certificate can be awarded with
  • 1st Prize  : Rs.40000/-
  • 2nd Prize : Rs.25000/-
  • 3rd Prize : Rs.15000/-
  • 4th Prize : Rs.5000/-
  • 5th Prize : Rs.5000/-

  2. After clicking on the link, you will see the login to Participate button, on which you have to click.
  3. To tell you to participate in this competition, your account should be on the website www.mygov.in if you are not registered on www.mygov.in, first of all sing up on the website.
  4. After login you can participate in this Film Competition of www.mygov.in
